Savings with CD (certificate of deposit)

Saturday, December 26, 2009

My friend is so obsessed about banks, bank deposits, minimizing credits, maximizing debit cards, hmmm time deposits, certificate of deposits, bonds and so forth that she nearly brainwashed me to save as little as a cent daily than to save a huge amount one time then spending the savings once I get to see something of interest to me. She knows that I’m an impulsive buyer; she just wanted me to have a better financial situation once I get old. She said one time, that little amount will become as big as you didn’t intend it to in the future, just keep on saving.  Checking different banks with their offer interest with a specified amount doesn’t convince me to save on them. Commercial banks are not like military or police banks (let’s say a government bank) that they offer limited or lesser interest rates compared to the latter. Now for you to open an account with them, you must be a current enforced officer, or a military personnel’s spouse or children.  I tell you when I say the interest is far bigger than what the commercial banks are offering. That could be the reason why my friend’s dad created an account for each and every child he has (whether legitimate or not) and deposited certain amount for each, and in due time (maturity of the person or for time deposits and/or CD’s) they have something to use. Now checking what time deposit could give me, it’s the same as having a savings account, the only difference is I can use the money and return it back in savings account. What about bonds? I’ll try to research on this further, as I am into it too!

All the information a newbie would want to know about roulette online on casinos are stretched here. The best thing about the site is it influences every body to play online games in a way that no blog has informed all to be careful about signing up, playing and winning. The site is not only into playing games but went deeper on supporting novice to advanced player, it discusses each games together with the benefits you can get out of it.

Journey through another company

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Dec 13, 2009. I went to my supposedly next company to submit documents for processing my employment. I am advised to get in touch with my current company to work the visa cancellation out. They need the passport stamp cancelled as they can’t have me until the passport is released from current company (so up to this time, I’m still praying that my visa will be cancelled so I can move on, with regard to the pending salaries from sept-nov 09 including the reimbursements of Dec08, and my annual leave, I will collect them later). My next company is in free zone and they don’t need NOC, they said that they talked to DAFZA about the ban if I will incur one, free zone don’t give a shit (wahahaha a smile on maface!), they’re entirely different from the non-free zone companies.

Then I called Labour department to confirm this: my labour contract is limited, while my internal contract says unlimited after probationary period and I need to render 30 days before current company cancels my visa! Labour said that for

LIMITED contract: no need to render 30 days. UNLIMITED needs to render 30 days.

If my current company will still ask me to render the 30 days (which I hope they won’t), I’ll be asking help from authorities. I don’t want to include Labour in this discussion coz it would take 2 months of going to the court and IH’s services will be temporarily close and I still have friends there that are still looking for their next jobs. I don’t want them to suffer on my behalf even though my current company is a hundred percent f*&%r.

A proper resignation letter even though it sucks

My information

December 9, 2009

Company information

Dear HR,

I regret to inform you that I am resigning from my position as Technical Architect for IH LLC. My last day of employment will be a month from now, January 9, 2010 and I hope that I can use my annual leave during this period.

I will be working for a cargo shipment company that is not a competitor of (this failing company) with respect to its services, and looking forward to the new direction of my office career. There I could get better opportunities to grow with my chosen field and be open to a new career development, surrounding and system, even though I will miss my job (and this f*$#ing company).
Thank you for the support and the opportunities that you have provided me during a year of service in this (m*&^f$#5r) company. I have enjoyed my tenure here.

I wish you and the company all the best. I do hope our paths cross again in the future.Pweh.

Negotiation before resignation

My letter to IH before I resigned, Dec 9, 2009.

As far as I wanted to continue my service to this company, I can no longer
accept the fact that I’m coming to work without any pay for the past 3
months. Not to mention the way my salary was deducted with AED800 without
any written consent and/or dialogue from the management. I’m not speaking
for myself alone but for others too who are greatly affected by this. Next,
when I exited to Oman so you can process my visa, I stayed there for 40 days
and my expenses as I returned will be reimbursed, where are they? A year had
past but still there are no reimbursements  given back to me, taking into
consideration the contract number 7.1 and the receipts that I submitted for
reference. Thirdly, the company don’t provide medical assistance as I don’t
have health card or whatsoever. Moreover, I applied for my paid annual leave
but unfortunately it will not be given to me unless there is another
engineer who will take my place. With so much stress from the company, I
will give my resignation letter. I’m humbly asking for NOC in return, as a
consolation for not being paid correctly. With regards to rendering 30 days
of notice as stipulated in article 11.1c of IH contract, I would want to do
this on my part, but the company is not giving their part, so I can’t come
to work without any pay. I incurred a lot of debts this past months
especially to the bank, and I have nothing to pay for it anymore, not to
mention the money that I should be supplying to my family in the Philippines
as they are expecting something from me. Those medicines both for our aging
parents needing constant medication and my sibling who needs my support are
all pending. Hopefully you give consideration on my part since you are not
paying my salaries, I can get NOC in return. Please
refer to this article for reference.

NOC

Friday, December 11, 2009

I once called the Ministry of Labour confirming the news about lifting the ban and no need to furnish an NOC (No objection certificate) from your current company if your company is not paying you for 2 months or more: and what is their answer? The guy who answered the phone is rude (you can tell from your end right?) and he wanted to finish the call immediately. He’s not sincere in answering the questions you have. Maybe because that is how they were taught since childhood to school, they don’t know the difference between a request and command (can and may). He answered “you need NOC. You will ban from Labour if not” and so I thought.

Go Casino!

Online casinos are like mushroom growing on a moist land, everywhere. As a rule of thumb,  always be careful in joining on online game site. Some are fly by night, some are legitimate. The site that I found is a blog written on the first quarter of this year, and they offer the best casinos online, as they proclaim. Not to mention how the site advises its players on what’s good and what’s not about slot games. Games online are a game of luck. If you’re tired physically and dont have the chance to get out to casinos, the best place to be with is to visit here. Precautions are given so no amount of money you regret, but hopefully tons and a million bucks of gold you can dig out from playing. Cheers and goodluck!

Was born a thief

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Before going to work, I went to Dubai Islamic Bank to check my current bank account from our company, Internet Heroes. Unfortunately there are no funds up to this day. Employees are behind 3 months of not being paid from Sept-Nov 09 (retail dept is getting their monthly  salary since GM is an Arab, while for services dept we don’t receive anything since we don’t have GM. We were temporarily adopted by retail’s GM). Today is Dec 1, and my first year in this company will come on Dec4. After that, I don’t want to waste my time, energy, money and intelligence in working here. I applied for my annual leave for January next year to see if they will give it. Or I’ll resign.

From that bank, they don’t accept Cirrus/ExpressNet cards (my bank is from the Bank of the Philippines Islands). A block away is another bank, NDB (National Bank of Dubai) that accepts that kind of card. And so I waited until an old man finishes his transaction. He left unknowingly that his card is still in the machine and I saw a 45thousand plus dirhams and the machine is asking me if I wanted another transaction or not. That moment, I think the man only checked his account balance and decided to leave. I pressed NO without any hesitation (really?) then the card went out of the machine. It was tempting to withraw everything on it since I’m broke. But still I didn’t withdraw the fortune that’s right in front of me. It might be a temporary solution to my financial problems today but it might be my years of financial crisis after, bad karma. I wanted to thank my parents for upbringing the good side of everything and not be tempted by these immature, temporary joy.

And so after I withraw the money that I borrowed from mom (from my own account alright), I went inside NBD (the card and the bank is the same) to surrender the card. The guard that is standing at the door told me “you don’t trust guards are you?”  when I’m not giving him the card. I said no, I just wanted to give this to the correct individual, a bank teller. And so the bank teller phoned the owner after verifying the card. I wanted to wait until the owner arrives but I’ll be late on my work. What’s the reason? Its hard for me to trust anybody, I wanted to see that the card is given to the owner. Well I’m certain that the teller will give it to the owner since there are other tellers who knew what my main concern is.

Tempting but I’m not that corrupt individual (like our company) to make the old man suffer from losing his hard-earned money. Telling this to my supervisor, she said don’t worry, what you did will make a good karma out of it and twice or more of that amount will come to you. I silently prayed.
