  6.  Closer you and I
  7.  My Immortal
  8.  Kiss from a rose
  9.  Because of You
  10.  Will you wait for Me
  11.  Officially missing You

  12.  I’ll be
  13.  All my life
  14.  Forever is not enough

  15.  Don’t say goodbye, Say Goodnight

Its raining ice crystals in Baguio

Saturday, August 23, 2008

Baguio City. Today, August 23, 2008 at around 4pm, we are experiencing an uncommon pouring of ice crystals in this city. Your umbrellas won’t protect your head, better get into a shade or something hard to cover your head with, or else you’ll look like these plants after you soak yourself under the crystals. It isn’t snow for Christ’s sake! This is a history of Baguio in the making!

I remember back then when I was younger (elementary years) that there was a time that ice rained in this city, but as the ice hits the ground, it immediately turns into water, or small portion of ice will be left, you can hardly put it on your palm. But this day? my brother told me that our gutter was filled with these hard ice! I felt half of my life was  taken out of me, i didn’t experience it.

What is happening to our world? Everyday, our environment is giving us clue that if we don’t take good care of it, our lives will be in trouble, just like what is happening now.

Baguio is now wrapped and as cold as ice.

The dancing Dell

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

3.jpg picture by jzerx

The group started forming the Dell dance club when most of my colleagues wanted to share their talents on our christmas party (my blog on the retro christmas) held at PICC Forum Hall in Pasay. They have several members back then, some are now gone (resigned), and very few were left. I joined the group when one of my team mates told me to just show up on their practice. Prior to me joining the group, I remember they conducted a series of tryouts so they can choose who can be the members are, back then I didn’t bother to show. But this time, I didn’t know what came into my mind, maybe I’m just giving my team mate the benefit of a doubt or something, or maybe I’m bored to my work, I need  something new. I’ve been into dancing eversince grade school so I’m confident about my ways of dancing. Been into a lot of competitions when it comes to dancing and representing the school, in choir competitions as well, it feels like winning is in my blood (I didn’t noticed that until this moment). Well, if I’m made as such, I can still go on as such and perhaps become better.

Today, few hours from now, we will be performing a dance.

It’s a disaster! I saw them dance to the max, while I only give enough. Not even to satisfy myself. I’m not proud of the outcome, I ruined the performance. “Na-star struck me sa mga tao sa harap, knowing that some are my friends and this is the first time they see me dance. It’s like the intro is good and the moment I saw them sitting in front, my mind went blank and you can see the difference on my movements! Crazy! I wanted to get out of the stage that moment when I saw them. It made my day even cloudier when I watched the video my friend took. They have plans even to upload it to youtube! Ohmy!

I knew this will come, that’s why I made sure that my outfit outweigh the rest. I said to them before the performance “kung nagkamali ka sa dance floor, kuhanin mo sa damit”. When we’re dining in after the show, they said “many are called but few are chosen”, let me add “among the few, the best remained”. I know mistakes happen, but this is not acceptable. Weeeeeeeep.

A green leaf at midnight

Monday, August 18, 2008

I got this picture from one of my folders when I’m cleaning clutters in yahoomail. This picture I created when I found out through Ellaine, a good friend of mine from ACS, who has a talent in making sketches and drawings on both paper and computer, that you can create images in MS paint, aside from the usual circle, squares etc, and coloring it. She taught me little ways in using the sadi software, though she said it is not her expertise because she is using Photoshop. So I tried, while taking in calls and for several days, I finally made it.

I like black, gray, navy blue colors and this theme maybe symbolizes a dark portion in my life though there is always a  light that guides me through my path, reminding me that sooner or later, I’ll get out of that darkness.

What is the meaning of this dream?

Sunday, August 17, 2008

She said “patingin naman ng mga pictures sa cellphone mo…” then I browsed my pictures and videos and I saw Ilaw’s pictures smiling at my camera phone. I glanced to where my mom is standing, looking to what we’re doing and I handed it to her and I woke up.

Moments ago, I was standing on this place: a cold venue where big pine trees surrounding me, the path is wide where the soil is violet-brown and fog is visible on some parts. The smell of the sun rising and leaving heat on damp leaves and green grass chilled me. I started moving down the path until I saw an old house with opened doors and broken glass windows. There are boxes and cans scattered and a big standing dog staring at me. The place is surrounded by above waist brown grass and it feels something is in there, a ghost maybe. Then I turned around to head on the way up, I saw another dog tied with a chain, eating something then looked at me. The dog never barked, as I thought so when I passed by. I was astonished when this carriage approached me. It has 2 big wheels with 3 white horses in front of another set of 3 horses and another 3 horses in front of it (3×3). An old man is manning the carriage, looks like Santa with his reindeers. What mesmerized me was the way the horses swayed in zigzag. A waiting man in black jacket rode the carriage and seated on one rope between the horses until it reaches another waiting short-haired in orange turtle neck shirt woman. Before she jumps in, I saw her sheepishly smiled to me, and then she knelt on top of the rope. What astonished me are the ropes: they are 6 people (can’t remember whether they are men/woman) tied facing down with arms on the back of the horses and legs on horse’s neck, and mind you, the horses fly! The 3 front horses then went 90 degrees vertically pulling the wait over then suddenly they disappear.

There is this small route (the path where the wheels of the carriage have left) up the mountain that I followed. On the way up, there is this big new apartment-like building colored maroon with beige linings filled with squatters. And when I reached the top, a beautiful hotel with rectangular flower pots with wide window glass from floor to ceiling awaits everybody. I saw no one inside nor a silhouette. A teenage boy is following me about 4 meters in between us when I noticed he changed his way when he saw a lady approaching, though I didn’t bother if she saw me or not, the boy did. It’s like we shouldn’t be there or else… The place has a lot of small and big white gates, and one path leads to the left side of the hotel where the gate was never opened or used. I tried to go out from that gate and I saw grudged ladies on top of a roof (another building) with champagne saying “I don’t want to die, let us finish our drinks first before we jump…” then I saw a jeepney full of passengers pass by with its roaring motor coz it is trying to go way up and it stopped in front of me though I didn’t ride inside. Weird, how will I uncover this dream?

Reverse curl for my lower abs?

Yes, this exercice is good for your abs, specially on the lower part. I find it amazing because you can perform this every time you wake up, and in the comfort of your own home. This can be an additional exercise to your routined exercises as well. Start it now so your friends will not tease you of a protruding belly, lol. This will develop your lower abdominal muscles in time. Meaning, get this as a part of your daily drill.

Start with this habit by lying on your bed. Bend your knees, place the feet flat on your matress, and place arms on both sides (you can use your bed or your floor). Pull your knees to the chest while exhailing, making note that your hips will be raised off the bed/floor and not past your shoulders, then returning to your starting position as you inhale. Repeat these steps until you’re fully awake and ready to work.

You can alter this exercise by bringing your arms behind your neck and do the same exercise. You can also play with your feet like you’re on a bike or something. 5-10 minutes is ok. Simple? Very.

Fortified with vitamins and minerals

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Fortification is the process of enforcing or enriching foods by adding vitamins or minerals into a common food. During commercial breaks (while watching tv), most of the pap has this tag ‘fortified’. At first, I didn’t know what that meant, until I got my pc and search over the net, now I’m sharing it to you for your added information. Kudos for food companies that are fortifying their products to make it healthier or with added benefits. That is what we needed today, mostly when the basic commodities are becoming high in prices.

I hope all companies who intend to place “fortified with…” into their label is correct and just. I read articles about a product that claimed it is fortified but when in fact it misses those key ingredients. It saddens me that these things are happening in our society. In a brighter side, trusted manufacturers will not lure people with false advertisements so we’ll enjoy their product not only through taste but through added vitamins and minerals. From now on, check labels with these letters and surely you will get something out of it, healthier.

Will Samsung Innov8 makes a mark?

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Pretty amazing for cellphone companies that they are emulating designs of a previous product that has hit the market, hoping their product will do the same. Nokia, as the people’s brand for cellphones, have a lot of designs to offer the public. I’m not saying that Nokia should be given credit in designing slide phones, I dont know who made it first. But this phone  I’m comparing with Samsung Omnia i900, unfortunately has the same look as N95. The only difference of  Innov8 from that model of Nokia are: 1. it has 8MP, a very good number of pixels used even for studio snapshots (but not to be blown up alright), 2. both have Wifi functionality, 3. both have internal memory of 8/16 GB, with optional external memory card, and 4. QVGA of 120 fps for more precise video capturing/playback.

Philippines is termed as the text capital of the world, so I say telecommunications company here are on the highest of gains. Usually, when the technology becomes more advance, the pay for the services becomes high as well, but as it evolves to more choices, it should be cheaper, so go for P0.50 for every message sent to any network. This is a callout for our very own gigantic companies Smart and Globe telecommunications, give credits to the people who uses your services day in and day out.

Now, going back to the main topic: if Innov8 will mark the market, its because of the 8MP it boasts of. Other than that, you’ll feel like you’re using your old N95. I’m looking for a phone that has the same specs I mentioned with a touch of i900 with the stylus not dangling around but rather a place to hide on the side of the phone.

I’m hoping I can sleep for 2 hours then go to my graveyard shift. Picture courtesy of mobilegazette.com

How to work abroad

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

I started having an interest in going abroad after she left. It’s hard to let go of someone dear to you, especially if you’ve been together for years. To process papers by you is a difficult one, I remember all those days I assisted her in going to different agencies, waiting in line while the rain pours or under the blazing heat of the sun just to have the correct authentication and hop to another agency and do the same…

A photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) and diploma needs to be authenticated from DFA through red-ribbon (literally they will place a red-ribbon on your documents). Before these documents will be authenticated by them, these should be authenticated by your school (it has to be the present year), then its either your school or you be the one to give it to CHED (it is regionalized and CHED Manila will not accept those TOR/diplomas that are not within their region). Then CHED will forward it to DFA, all you needed to do is to show the stub that was given to you by CHED to retrieve the documents. There is also another way if you don’t want to go to DFA to get your documents, let DHL do the walking for you (this option is listed on the stub). I heard complaints about this red-ribbon thing: since its literally a red-ribbon, why not just go to Recto and authenticate it from there, anyway they are good in forging documents, rather than going through the hassles of visiting one agency to another, (naah it’s not worth it).

Another document that you need to have authenticated from DFA is your birth certificate from NSO(original), not from your local registrar. If you are employed, give your employment certificate as well. For single person, and wanted to get marry sooner, get your CENOMAR (Certificate of No-marriage) from NSO as well, original  then authenticated. You will be given a checklist of documents to be authenticated, all you need to do is to check the items listed, present your original copy, pay to cashier, then off you go with your ribboned documents. Additional: for employment certificates: it should have an affidavit, with dy seal and passed through RTC (cedula or passport # is nessessary for affidavit).

If you don’t have a passport yet, sorry, you will not go out of the country. I’ll be updating this every now and then, I’m still in the process of authenticating documents in DFA. Lastly, I created an account in http://workabroad.com.ph. It helps me a lot in choosing the jobs for any countries that are listed there.

Note: Always be ready with your exact payments (in hundreds) and include your budget for food. There are people outside the agency that walks with you until you reach the gate asking different questions. On my case, I’d rather personally go through the process than letting someone take control of my important documents. On one of my visits, a man grabbed me by my biceps and wanted to talk to me or to assist me (of course with pay), I raised my eyebrow without saying anything and he let go. He shouldn’t be grabbing people (coz it irritated me). I know what I’m doing and I’m capable of asking questions and going to directions given to me without any help from them.
