hi ….its about my brother, recently he got a job offer in one private company in abu dhbi as doc controller thnks god …unfortunately things went wrong No.1 is about his accomodation they r not allowed to cook and the food he can buy is all indian/pakistani and arab food and he dont like it …so most of the time he eat canned goods by the his accomodation in ICAD MUSSAFAH, nO.2 is suposed to be he will worked as doc controller but he worked as storekkeper ..he got the employmt visa and offer letter saying he will worked as Doc controller ….. No3. he worked 12 hrs everyday no ot pay ….he worked from 6am to 6pm….My brother dcided to resign ..and go back to philippines ….my question is do u think his employer will ask him to pay for the employment visa ( residence and pataka not yet issued and he worked there for 1 week and stop working now because he cannot take it anymore and his employer know that he is planning to resign & his employer did not allow him to resign ) . My brother did not sign any contract . Any idea how much he will pay if his employer ask him to pay ( he was hired in abu dhabi ). He should have a contract signed with the company. I just dont remember that a company can offer an employment visa to an employee without the internal contract. I’m sure about the documents submitted to labour dept so they can issue labour card, that document is the contract signed by both parties. Check with his PRO if the documents were submitted already to labour to process the labour card (usually PRO will say it is submitted, getting his side on the company, so you will pay), with that said, get the number from the PRO as a proof that it is on-process and check it with other PRO’s or direct to labour dept. Just to verify that what they’re saying is true.
Usually, if it’s only an offer letter given to anybody and the company let the employee start without contract signing, you can get out of the company if you dont like them. But cases like your brother’s need consultation on the labour dept, since he was given an employment visa without contract signing.
